Rowing Together.

As a rowing team methodically sculls across the water toward a shared destination, so Rock Leaf seeks to cultivate a team that rows in unison, each oarsman being mindful of the boat’s precise stroke, rhythm, and direction.

Rock Leaf’s rowboat depends on individuals who collectively aim to respond quickly, perform excellent work, and keep our client’s needs as a high priority. As we row in unison with these shared values, we also recognize that each position in a rowboat has a unique role and attitude to contribute to the overall function and integrity of the watercraft. Rock Leaf seeks to place each metaphorical rower in the right seat within our boat while maintaining a unified rowing team.

Shared Values.

Quick to respond implies punctual communication with the team and our clients. Phone calls should be answered with the greatest urgency, followed by text messages, which are intended for important communication that needs a prompt reply. Emails are expected to be acknowledged with a response within one business day. Being appropriately available within the team and for our clients helps Rock Leaf procure greater opportunities and facilitates excellent services.

Performing excellent work in the context of a rowing team requires paying close attention to the instruction of the coxswain (signal caller) and precisely moving your paddle in the manner suggested in order to head in the proper direction.

Excellent environmental work at Rock Leaf means coming prepared and on time to meetings, work sites, and shop tasks. It also means paying close attention to the work plan, accurately executing each step, and making appropriate adaptations in order to complete a project thoroughly.

Rock Leaf works to perform each of these movements efficiently, understanding that there are many strokes and projects we are collectively applying. Efficacy keeps the team from being worn out from undue steps while maintaining a high-quality work product. Make each stroke valuable and correct. Within a rowboat of 2, 4, 6, or 8 rowers, your excellence and your misses are felt by all, regardless of whether they are explicitly witnessed. At Rock Leaf your excellence is likewise noticed by others on the team; when there are misses we aim to find solutions to set our strokes back into unison.

You matter; your quality matters

Rock Leaf aims to provide excellent service for our clients. That mission can be accomplished by maintaining awareness of their needs through communicating questions and expectations, and by finding solutions on time or before the client is even aware of their need. When our customers come to us with an ask – Can you row your boat from Landing Knot to Landing Rope in order to accomplish our need? – Rock Leaf is renowned for finding solutions. This is done by thinking outside of the box, rearranging our schedules, and having our equipment and supplies ready at all times. We have set out to be of service to others and we eagerly accept opportunities to see a job well done.

A collective effort and approach to rowing and working on the Rock Leaf team will make the days worthy and bright.

WHY

Our Environmental Purpose

Fly above the earth’s surface, and you will see human civilization intertwined with the natural landscape. The earth and its living creatures long to live in unity.

We depend on nature: For food, for material, for recreation.

The environment also depends on us for stewardship and protection.

Our rhythms are not always synchronous with those of nature. In an effort to build civilizations, we move and manipulate the earth to convenience our plans. As a result, we disrupt ecosystems, contaminate waterways, and manufacture material beyond any capacity to invest back into our natural resources. Our intentions are not usually malevolent, but they have consequences nonetheless. Whether we recognize it or not, our existence profoundly impacts the earth beneath our feet, the same earth on which our lives depend. We have a great responsibility.

How can we minimize our impact?

How can we be better neighbors with the wildlife, land, and water?

Do we appreciate nature’s needs?

The harmony of humanity sustainably existing within nature results from preserving our precious world. At Rock Leaf Water Environmental, we strive to make our impacts less, our restorations greater, and our awareness attuned to the nature surrounding our communities. By nurturing areas that are healthy and restoring those where the balance has been lost, Rock Leaf is creating a legacy of environmental stewardship.
